I never really wanted to get into the monarch “business” so to speak. I’ve enjoyed watching them visit my milkweed, lay eggs, and watch the caterpillars do their thing naturally. That came to a screeching halt last week, when a WASP, held a massacre on my milkweed, and killed 3 caterpillars. I actually caught him with one in his mouth, just sitting there. I killed the wasp and held the little limp bodies he scattered about, and was like THATS IT! I’m getting an enclosure! I have 5 caterpillars now, all inside, with one crysalis, and after they all hatch, I’m going to replenish my milkweed supply and take a break. But for now, I sleep better, knowing their predators cannot get them. This is a great product. Tight, and secure. I love the clear window as seeing thru the screen is more difficult.
