Frequently Asked Questions:

Where are the Rav Party tickets? What's the Rav Talk? Is that the same thing?

They aren't the same. The Ravelry Talk is a 1.5 hour talk by the Ravelry Team on Friday from 530-7pm.  Tickets for this can be purchased under 'Marketplace Tickets'.  The Ravelry Party will take place on Saturday evening, though, these have to date all been unticketed. So just keep an eye out for details on the site, Ravelry and newsletter.

If I buy a ticket to the Rav Talk does that include a pass to the Friday & Saturday Marketplace?

Only classes include a student's Friday and Saturday pass to the Marketplace.  These are all the items starting with a code CL.

If I sign up to a class does that include a pass to the Exclusive Preview night?

The Exclusive Preview night is not included in the student's Friday & Saturday pass.

Now I've paid for my classes/tickets, what next?

Make sure you check the class description for any homework, materials and materials fee you will need to bring to class.  On the day, be sure to arrive early to register and pick up your student packs.  If you have purchased tickets for the Exclusive preview or the Ravelry talk, you will be able to pick up these up too when you register.

Will there be somewhere to store my spinning wheel/shopping trolley?

Yes. We will have a storage room for luggage/shopping/wheel storage that will be open:

Thurs 8am-830pm
Friday 8-6pm
Saturday 8-5pm

Leaving your property in our storage room is at your own risk.  The room will be staffed and locked overnight. Cost is £4 per item per day. To keep an item overnight, the cost is £4 for the day and £4 for the overnight to (and including) the next day (ie drop off on Thursday, pick up on Friday is £8. Drop off on Thursday, pick up on Saturday is £12).  The storage room is in Sherfield Building (same building as the Marketplace). We will confirm the location on the day at the registration desk.

Where is the registration desk and when is it open?

Registration is on the ground floor of Sherfield Building at Imperial College.

The Registration Area where you can pick up your class packs, pre-paid tickets and merchandise, and purchase tickets for the Marketplace on the day is on the ground floor of Sherfield Building and will be open:

Thursday 29 July 730am-8pm
Friday 30 July 8am-7pm
Saturday 31 July 8am-6pm

Please note the change in start time on Thursday from 7am to 730am. This is because we cannot get into the area before 7am and so have had to push back the opening time to 730am. We apologise for any inconvenience!

You should bring your Paypal payment receipt or if you didn't pay by Paypal your order invoice & confirmation for your classes/tickets with your unique Transaction ID (you can find this at the top right hand corner under the date) as we need this to match you to your student pack.

What happens at registration?

At registration, students will receive their student packs which contain class room numbers and maps, a class pass which also doubles as the Marketplace pass, as well as a souvenir expo programme.

I only purchased Marketplace tickets/Ravelry talk tickets - when do I get these?

You should pick these up at the prepaid desk next to the registration desk on the ground floor of Sherfield Building at Imperial College.

I paid for my classes in more than one purchase, so I have a few different receipts - should I bring everything?

Yes please.  Please note however that each student only receives one pass to the marketplace which is not transferable.

I bought a class for a friend. How does my friend register?

Please ensure that when you buy your class that you note in the comments box at check out the items that you are buying for your friend, and your friend's name.  Your friend will need to bring a copy of the Paypal receipt with the Transaction ID for your purchase to register and receive their student pack.

Why is there a 'shipping' option on the tickets and the classes?

Our dear shop is rather stubborn in some ways. Just ignore the shipping option for tickets and classes - nothing will be posted; everything will be at the registration desk and prepaid desk for you to pick up.

What is your cancellation policy?

Tickets and classes are non-refundable.  We are no longer able to assist you with finding another person to take your class, and therefore discretionary refunds for classes are unfortunately no longer possible. Classes are however transferable, so you simply need to follow the procedure below so we know to release your registration to the purchaser.   Tickets are not transferable.

I bought a class/ticket but cannot make it. I found someone to take my place. What do I do next?

The person who purchased your class/ticket will need to bring an email from the same email account you have registered with the Knit Nation site, stating the items which you have sold to that person and citing the Paypal Transaction ID/Knit Nation Order ID.
